During his visit, he met with Dr. Efrat Bron-Harlev, CEO of Schneider Children’s, Dr. Omer Niv, Deputy Director, Dr. Sivan Ahituv, Deputy Director, Adi Reinzilber, Director of Administration, and Nurit Baruch, Head of Nursing.

Minister Horowitz visited various departments in the hospital, chatted with staff, met with parents of patients and spoke with hospitalized children. He was particularly moved to meet 13-year-old Ilona from Ukraine, who underwent a liver transplant a few weeks ago following a liver lobe donation from her father, and is still in recovery.

Dr. Bron-Harlev noted that “I was honored to meet the Minister of Health and show him around the hospital, the only one of its kind in Israel. Schneider Children’s treats children with complex conditions from all over the country and I was pleased to present our future plans for the advancement of children’s health in Israel as well as the new glass building that will open soon which will be able to provide medical and nursing care to many more children in Israel and abroad.”
